On the 16th to 17th July, a plenary meeting of the H2020 RESISTO project was held at Altice Labs, focusing on the resilience and security of telecommunications infrastructures. The project, which started in May 2018 and has a duration of 36 months, is supported by a consortium of 19 partners, including 5 telecommunications operators. The ultimate goal is to validate and evaluate solutions developed through a set of use cases.

Altice Labs is primarily focused on exploring 5G-based scenarios, taking advantage of the new capabilities provided by virtualization and programmability of network resources, and making use of machine learning techniques. This is intended to demonstrate innovative approaches to some of the most pressing challenges for telecom operators in terms of reliability, security and robustness of services and infrastructure. The use cases to be developed by Altice Labs in the RESISTO context should be supported by the 5G experimental infrastructure, currently being implemented under other collaborative projects, namely H2020 5G-VINNI.

During the meeting, a review of the main architecture components was made, the alignment of ongoing activities in the various Work Packages and the results already achieved were themes under discussion. From Altice Labs’ point of view, the meeting was an opportunity to present the plans for the 5G infrastructure that will support the RESISTO trials in Aveiro and the definition of the use cases to be developed.
