The "All of Portugal" Conference Cycle, organized by Altice Portugal / Altice Labs and Jornal Económico, contributes to the dynamization of the country’s interior in various aspects, from innovation and entrepreneurship, to environmental sustainability or valorization of local power.

The fourth conference was on the theme "Innovation as an Instrument of Change in the Labor Market" and it was held on the 18th November at the University of Évora, and was part of the Entrepreneurship Week at the University of Évora which took place until the 21st November.

The opening of the event was attended by Carlos Manuel Rodrigues Pinto, Mayor of Évora, Ana Costa Freitas, Dean of the University of Évora, João Zúquete da Silva, Chief Corporate Officer of Altice Portugal and Filipe Alves, Director of Jornal Económico.

João Zúquete reinforced what the Altice group has been doing for the country, stating that "the simple role that Altice has played, not only for Alentejo, but also for other territories, has a lot to do with the decentralization of some of its activities. That's what we have been doing with customer service centers. This helps us, on the one hand, to make our workforce more resilient, as it is spread across the country and is not at the mercy of the competitiveness of large urban centers. But on the other hand, it also helps to contribute to the settlement of populations in their territories". One of the examples given by Altice Portugal's Chief Corporate Officer was the recent decentralization of Altice Labs innovation poles, which is a way for Altice Portugal to maintain its balance in order to continue contributing to national cohesion.

During the conference there was an opportunity to attend speeches by various experts, all of whom highlighted the importance of decentralization. Prior to the intervention of the guest panels, the director of Porto’s Sheraton, Joana Almeida, participated as a keynote speaker with the Innovation in Tourism theme. This was followed by the first debate, with representatives of the regional press of Évora, Luís Carapinha from Tribuna Alentenjo.pt, Justino Engana from Voz da Planície radio, José Piçarra from Diário do Sul, and Luís Matias from Diana FM radio. "Growth and the innovation projection in Alentejo" was the next panel, moderated by Pedro Carvalho from Altice Labs. Miguel Romão from Alentapp, António Fradique from Fuel Save, Pedro Tereso from AgroSustentável and Luís Miguel Rato, who coordinates collaborative projects between the University of Évora and Altice Labs, in the areas of artificial intelligence, mobility and design of products.

"The future of the industrial revolution" was the last topic under discussion. This panel featured the following guests: Arlindo Duarte from Embraer Portugal, Ruben Gomes from the swiss company Te Connectivity, Nuno Ferreira from the portuguese company Rebis Consulting (which has a technical center in Évora), Rui Flores from Alentejo Herdade do Esporão, and António Figueira from Alentejo Science and Technology Park (PACT). The closing session was attended by the president of Alentejo and Ribatejo Tourism, António Ceia da Silva.

Parallel to the conference, an Altice Labs space was exhibited with a demonstration of the Smart Mirror, a prototype that allows gesture interaction, with personalized content for the Évora region. Many were interested in learning about Altice Labs’ projects and the Smart Mirror, from students to companies attending the conference.
